Hello all,

I recently turned 18 and I want to get into real estate sales and real estate investing. I am looking for someone who is established in the real estate market in Buffalo, NY who would be willing to take me under their wing and sort of mentor me while I learn about the industry.

A little more about me. I work nights at ThermoFisher Scientific as a Technician 2, as well as I am also into bodybuilding and powerlifting sports. I am getting into the real estate with the goal to begin to build generational wealth and gain financial freedom. I thank you to all who read this and anyone who may be interested in helping me out!

Congrats on getting into RE and getting your license, its a great industry.  Doing it part time is very difficult.  In my opinion it leads to a jack of all trades master of none type scenario but, that is just me.
For training you are best going to a large brokerage and joining a team.  They will have tons of programs set up for training and a team will have lead generation in place to get some clients coming your way.  Good luck!

The goal is to do real estate full time. Just need to get in with a broker before I can leave my current job. Thank you for your response!

@John Moorhouse Welcome and good timing as April's local meeting was just announced:  https://www.biggerpockets.com/...

Come hang out, meet different types of investors, and be a sponge.  There are a handful of great agent teams if that's the type of mentorship and guidance you're looking for.

Unfortunately I work that night of April 13th and will not be able to make it. Hopefully the next one I can stop in

I mean, kinda. If ill be able to buy properties at that time it would allow me to get some good deals. Or rather get properties at value not 30% higher like everything is right now.

@Ashley Kehr how do you find out about BP meetings in Buffalo? Im 16 I want to invest in real estate. I live right on the border of Kenmore and North Tonawanda

@Frank Patalano whats holding me back is the fact that Bigger pockets has no way to filter out comments you have already read. So basically I will never see what the people who @ me said because im not about to scroll though 2 months of comments.

@JD Martin I’m still reading every single response, but i got a lot of people PMing me now which was not what I thought would come out of me posting this. But I’m happy it did because a lot of great things are going happening in there. To you and to everyone else who has not yet gotten a response back from me yet. Thank you very much and I am soaking in all of your words like a sponge.

@Jim K. You are assuming a lot about me, and for good reason but i want to say a few things. I never made this post like “Im dropping out today to peruse realest because school sucks and I’m going to be rich” I simply posed a question because I was curious and for other people who had that seem seed planted in their head. First thing I dont give up. Could it seem like I do in the question? Yes it does, but I dont. We need 24 high school credits to graduate, I have 18 and at the end of the year i will have 26. I did this by starting high school early. I removed all study halls, and any lunch periods. That way I was in school for 9 periods and I had 9 classes. I have already run through the business academy and some of the tech academy. All I have left in school in the classes the state forces us to take and a few others that I deem helpful. I also want to take public speaking next year.. I read through your responses and I enjoyed it because you put a lot of great advice in there. And at this point I wish I could either delete or edit my original post because more people keep commenting, which dont get me wrong I greatly appreciate, but its a lot of the same information. Please remember i tried to pose this as an idea, not something I wanted to act out on right away. Everyone has thought about dropping out, just wanting to see what people thought. Thank you for responding Jim!
