Hi, my name is John Weber and I want to have enough passive income when Im older to finance travel and a family. A friend guided me to this site a few months ago and now that I have put some time into reading RE books and listening to the BP podcasts, I felt its about time I introduced myself.
I am currently getting pre-approved for a mortgage to find out how much I can afford, however I am in a toss up for what kind of property I want to start with. I am not sure whether I should pursue an investment in the city area that I could live in or focus on finding an investment property in a location farther from the city. I would be looking for investment properties specifically in the New Paltz, Kingston area of New York because I grew up in that area and I know it the best.
Any tips, advice, suggestions or donations would be kindly accepted. : )
