If you’re not able to pay the taxes, consider selling the house to an investor (like me).

Quote from @Jodi Tommerdahl:

There's one once a month at Krootz in Gainesville. The next one is July 20 at noon. It's run by Kelly Bob Bayer who is on Facebook and announces it. It would be great to see you guys there.

I live here in DFW Texas, I owe $12,000 property tax. If not paid in 2 weeks, the
tax lean will be auction. I owe the property free and clear. Ideas
please. What should I do?

Post: Federal moratoriums on eviction until end of 2020

I only read about this a minute ago and don't know if it a moratorium will actually take effect, but the article I read stated that only evictions for non-payment of rent will be blocked and that evictions for other reasons will still be legal. I'm wondering what this means in the case that a tenant is at the end of their lease. Is this a reason to 'evict' if that's even the right term in this case? Personally, I don't have any tenants in this situation now, but I'm sure a lot of landlords will. Any legal interpretations out there?

I'm looking at a small apartment building in TX tomorrow and see in the documentation that there's an exterminator's bill for killing bedbugs.  Can anyone advise me how big an issue it will be if I buy a building with bedbugs?  Will I be able to get rid of them?  How do I look for them during my visit?

Sure!  I had what the French call an "apart-hotel" which was run by the vacation company, Pierre & Vacances.  It was a special deal, backed by the French government where there was a certain income guaranteed (low) but there was no risk.  The rate of return was guaranteed.  Unfortunately, I only broke even after owning it for about 10 years.  There were regular renovation expenses that I had no say over.  The fees to buy and sell were very high and the sale was nearly impossible due to the legal complexities and general laziness of the French professionals involved.  I think it took about 18 months to sell.   I know that it would be different to have a normal property and it could be very lucrative.  My particular purchase wasn't a great one however.
