@Joao Guimaraes

Thanks Joao for valuable input and help !

At worst scenario I would accept to do minor renovations - painting , eventually making up 1 additional bedroom. Since I have a full time job and kids It is important that the rental is not that far from where I live Maia. Braga is twice the distance comparing to Porto. Though I agree the distance to Braga is not the perfect scenario but it is not a deal breaker . I will start checking there Joao . Any tips ?

@Luis Bivar Ramos

Thanks Luis for your valuable input

The reason I I’m sticked to searching properties within 15 min walk of university zone is to know that the rate of occupancy will be very high.

I am afraid that others more peripheral areas in Porto which are now easy to rent may in the future be more difficult to rent. And for someone who will pay a mortgage that’s a high to accept risk.

What places would you recommend me to took at since I live in Maia and want to buy and hold.

@Joao Guimaraes

Thanks Joao for your insight

As you can see I am just starting in real state

Then What cities or places do you consider to be more interesting to invest now in north Portugal using buy and hold strategy ?

Since I live in Maia I started to look at Porto universitary zone as natural choice . Also I digged in Braga universitary área and did not find it more interesting.
