Hi Denise, I purchased a tax deed from the state of Alabama  for a property with a structure on it 1/30/2015 in Centerpoint. The tax sale took place3/26/2011. I took possession of the property immediately by cleaning it out removing all furniture and trash that was there. I boarded up the doors and windows and I continue to pay to maintain the grass . I have been trying to get funding to do a full renovation of the property to. Make  it my home. A particular investor who has contacted me several times to sell the home and I said no ,sent me letter today which included a quit claim deed from the former owner signing the property over to his company and he is demanding the right to redeem the property. The quit claim deed was signed on 9/27/2017. Does he have the right to redeem. Please help me.

Hi I need some help!!, ,I bought a property from the State of Alabama land Commisioner on 1/30/15 for unpaid taxes. The state sent me a tax deed according to the deed the probate court had decreed the lands for sale 3/26/11 due to the unpaid taxes of the previous owner. The deed also stated that the time allowed by law for redemption had elapsed . I recently received a notice from one Birmingham Real Estate Solutions(LLC) stating that the previous owner had quit claimed his rights to them and they are demanding the right to redeem the property. The quit claim deed dated 9/27/17. Does anyone know if this can happen? I have been maintaining the property although I have not lived in it. I really hope someone has answers for me please

Hi.  I am looking for a real estate lawyer in the Birmingham Alabama area. Would love a recommendation for one who is experienced in doing quiet titles.                                                                                                                                                                    hi, I have a tax deed property that I plan to renovate into a rental, based on the current market I think I can rent it out for about 950 per month. So what are things I need to consider in order to not overspend on the Reno. I hope there is some formula. The property needs a lot of work to make it habitable.

Hello, I am a Newbie from Brooklyn NY. I work fulltime as a nurse . I have a desire to learn all I can about buying tax deed properties and buying and flipping houses . I have dabbled and bought  properties in the State of Alabama jefferson County and in Port St Lucie Florida. I was not introduced by anyone to biggerPockets, I just happened on the website as I was searching for information on tax deed properties. I am looking forward to all the site has to offer.
