@Jordan Holt undefined. While the property taxes are higher in this area the low prices more than make up for it. Not sure which areas you are looking in but the city area has inexpensive multi families where in most cases 1 unit pays the mortgage and property taxes for the month. Don't let the high taxes sway you from investing here.

@Michael W. The Syracuse market (2-3 hours from Buffalo) has lots of opportunities for multi family property under $100,000. Cap rates I have seen anywhere from 5% to 22% for a 3 family in the city. While property taxes are high in Syracuse, they are pretty reasonable in the city.

Thanks everyone for the welcomes. Right now I am currently working with one new investor so we are kind of going through the learning process together. I haven't really looked at to much in the eastern suburbs just like the location as it is convenient for me.

Hi Dev. Go to CNYrealtor.com and click the education tab. On the lefthand side put your cursor over licensing and click online licensing and you can find out the details. If you can find an actual class in your area I would suggest that over the online. The extra information and experience that a teacher has really makes the content stick. Also, you can set up a few consultations with brokerages in your area to see what they offer and they can give you information about the class. I highly recommend Keller Williams as they have a great training and mentoring program for new hires. Good luck in your journey and if you have any questions let me know.

There are a few areas I am thinking of. Multi family in the University area and Eastwood. Or a small apartment building, under 10 units, in the eastern suburbs.

Hi everybody! My name is Jim Wilson. I'm a real estate agent in Syracuse, NY. I've often read articles on this site but just joined. I'm looking to network with investors in the area. Also, looking to build my own portfolio of properties.
