@Michael Plaks thanks for the explanation and details! I will own it less than two years, less than a year actually. So I simply just report the sale and list my adjusted basis correct?

@Ashish Acharya thank you for the reply! Just to be clear, I wouldn’t have to file anything at all for taxes in regards to the sale as long I can justify the breakeven or loss? I can also add the realtor commission for the buyer’s agent to the adjusted basis correct?

Hello!

My question is if you sell your primary residence before the 2 year mark, can you still have your adjusted basis to avoid paying any taxes since it would be a breakeven or loss including the improvements made. I have all the receipts and numbers to show it.

Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks!

Hello! My tenants need an address from me for their taxes...I have some properties in LLC using a registered agent and a couple in my personal name still. Can I give them ALL a PO Box or Registered agent address???? Please help! I don't want any having my home address. Thanks!

Hello! If I sell my primary residence within one year, can I still use the cost adjusted basis and count my improvements and commission paid to either breakeven or show a loss and avoid capital gains tax since it would be a true breakeven or loss? Since I do not meet the 2 year primary residence I want to make sure I can.
