How did you find renters for your property?

It’s going to be a little difficult in the Huntsville area to do this for 130,000. You could look at 35803 zip or you might need to look outside of Huntsville. Maybe Athens or Decatur? I don’t know anything about those markets, but have heard they are ok.

Thanks Dave for your thoughts! Helps me to know I’m not totally off track.

Does anyone have experience with short term rentals in Huntsville? I’m wondering if there is a demand for such a thing in Huntsville.

I'm considering buying a SFH in the Huntsville area in cash to use as a rental property. Would you buy in 35801 or 35802? Right now I like the idea of one property bringing in more rent vs two properties at a lower rent in a lower grade neighborhood. Thoughts?

Samuel, thanks for the welcome! Which area of Huntsville do you own properties?

Oren, I’m not sure if you mean the north part of Huntsville? Highest rents in Huntsville are in the 35801 area.

Hi William! We plan to pay cash.

Hi Darin! Our goal is to maximize monthly cash flow so I’m debating getting one property in a better area of town like Blossomwood/35801 vs getting two properties in an area like Merrimack/35805 or 35816. How has vacancy been for your properties? Have they been easy to rent?

Hi BiggerPockets! I am a stay at home mom living in Huntsville, AL. My husband and I will be looking to buy an investment rental property in the next 6 months. We are interested mostly in single family homes.

I have grown up in Huntsville and know the neighborhoods pretty well, but would love to chat with people about the best area for rentals, what their experience with vacancies has been, etc.

Thanks so much for welcoming us to the BiggerPockets community! I’m excited to have found this wonderful resource.
