Post: Spreadsheets (expenses - loan payment)

I've looked at quite a few rental property template spreadsheets now and can't quite figure out why none of them (or at least the ones I've seen) don't give you a place to input your mortgage/loan payment as a monthly expense.  They all just seem to cater to mortgage insurance.  I understand that the mortgage payment isn't technically an operating expense, but you still have to account for it if you wanna know your profits/losses.  Am I missing something?

If you're interested in some things a bit further South (Cochise County) then I'll be your Huckleberry.

Send me a private message if you're ok with that type of distance.

Hey all. Thanks for replying and offering words of encouragement already. @Rick C. I'm hoping to be in the "relaxing" phase in a maximum of 15 years, minimum 6.

I'm well aware that nothing that yields rewards come without putting forth the effort but I've got my mind made up that I WILL NOT be putting forth substantial effort into making money until I die.  I feel there are many more things life has to offer and if I can make money work for me for the latter half of my life, that's the train I wanna be on.

Hi all,

I'm basically your typical family man who's trying to ensure that his retirement later on is something he can feel confident about and enjoy. I don't want to have to worry about running out of money. So my main focus in investments overall has now been shifted to creating long term passive streams of income (whether that be real estate or not). If quick flips in real estate help me along the way then that's cool and a bit of a bonus but my long term goal is relaxation so flipping houses doesn't seem like the best method of relaxation to me. I'm much more interested in buy and hold, rentals, etc.

I'm just looking for solid advice along the way and a chance to network with like-minded individuals.
