Are you looking to move to Nova Scotia or buy rental property in Nova Scotia and continue to live in Ontario?

I've never used them myself, but I have been recommended "Lock & Stone Property Services" by others. 

Tim Ring has also offered his property management services to me before. I have never used him myself before but I know he owns a few units.

There are also a few people from our Truro Real Estate Meetup who have expressed interest in managing other people's units such as @Jacob G. @Rinujan Kananesan @Jake Wing . They are all on Bigger Pockets as well and I would recommend any of them.

I don't think there would be HST on the purchase on the property, but you would need to pay "deed transfer tax" which is equal to 1% of the purchase price of the property.

The deed transfer tax is not reimbursable, but you would be able to claim it as an expense to account against your taxable income if you are putting it in your name or as a business expense for your company if you are putting it in your company's name.

I am not an accountant so don't take what I said as 100% true. If you are serious about it, then I would reach out to an account in the area that you are looking to buy the property and ask them about it.

@Jacob Geronimo We could start a form thread on bigger pockets about having a meet up in Truro and @ anyone who many be interested in coming.  We could also leave it open to anyone who would like to come, the more the better in my opinion.

I would definitely want to meet up sometime. @Jacob Geronimo and I were talking about doing one in Truro sometime.

@Anthony Sartor how are the meet-ups in HRM? I was considering going to one, but haven't been able to find the time. Do you think it would be worth my time to go to one?
