Quote from @Magda Lipinska:

Hi guys! I’m a new investor, and I’m planning to start with house hacking. I’m open to both, short or long-term, in Austin or the surrounding areas (mostly considering San Marcos).

I’m doing my research/analyzing deals, but wanted to see if anyone would be willing to share their experiences:

1. Do you find that one is more profitable than the other? (STR vs LTR)

2. Aren’t the property taxes eating all of your cash flow?! I’m not 100% sure if I’m making a mistake in my calculations, but each time, the taxes take a surprisingly huge part of the cash flow.

Any feedback/real-live experiences will be highly appreciated!

I’m an STR manager in San Antonio and there’s still money to be made, on the right deal. In competitive markets like San Antonio and Austin you’ll need to prioritize design and furnishing and I highly recommend using an STR focused interior designer. I’d be happy to share some of my designers and experiences in San Antonio. You can look me up online, “Your Home Away Management San Antonio”.

Hi @Ornella Jimenez! I’m also in San Antonio and I am a property manager for short and mid-term rentals. Where are your historical homes in San Antonio?

Hi in dwinogity and Jefferson Heights

Love those areas! I have multiple properties in the area that I manage. I'd be happy to help you with your properties and give you a revenue projection as a short term rental. Are you still buying more properties?
