Hey @Patrick Menefee could you possibly add me as well?

Thank you !

Good morning everyone!

I would like to know if anyone recommends any good lenders in Charlotte, NC. I'm a newbie in real estate so I really need some advice and guidance towards getting an FHA loan.

Good morning everyone!

New to the BP blog here and I’ve been listening to podcasts and reading a lot of books on real estate, my idea is to try to get my first deal by end of this year or beginning of next!

I would like to get a duplex, put some work into it and house hack. I have experience in the construction field working for about 5 or so years in the flooring industry.

My question is regarding a 203(k) loan, to get a 203(k) what are some specific requirements? Do you have to have a certain credit score? And will a car loan and credit card debt influence on the approval of the loan?

Hey Patrick, awesome idea organizing this event! I am very interested in attending, however I don’t have any properties yet. I am studying, reading and educating myself to soon purchase my first property, can I still attend?

Thanks !

@Aaron Clements

Hey Aaron!

Thank you for the great information!

I didn’t even think about that school side , great idea!

I will definitely keep an eye out because I really was looking for a duplex/triplex.

But getting a multi family home is another great idea.

Thank you once again!

Hey guys!

I’m new here and I’ve been wanting to get into real estate for a while now and I’ve been listening to BP podcasts and reading a ton of books on Real Estate but surely there is always a lot to learn , especially here on BP!

My question is, what would you guys recommend for a first investment property:

1) FHA loan for a single family house( I say single family house because I'm based out of Charlotte,N.C. and can't really find much duplex/triplexes) , live in it for a year then move and rent it out?

2) Start with a cheaper property like a small 1bed/1bath apartment (I’ve seen several small apartments here for 50-60k) and put the 20% down payment?

I would love to hear suggestions and of course any other information would be very helpful.

Thank you guys!
