Post: Maggie Valley, NC Airbnb/Vaca Rentals

Interesting thread! We don't have any rental property in Maggie, but me and my family lived there for several years. Built a house right on the mountainside there, a couple minute drive from the town event space some 30 years ago! If they could ever get Ghost Town back in working order, that would certainly help with some increased renters through the town.

@Chris Rosenberg

That is awesome! We will see if we can make one of the first Tuesday of the month meetings! We both stay pretty busy, especially my wife who is a Financial Analyst, but I know we'd love to be more involved with some Rental Meetup Groups!

@Daniel Denning

Thats awesome! We contemplated a condo on the beach in Myrtle, but the city regulations kinda scared us away. How has the regulations been for you? Good it seems? Have you had any issues with your neighbors around your condo complaining about any guests that have stayed there?

Glad to hear you've done well the past year though! We are not really sure what to fully expect for our occupancy rate in our STR, the other similar STRs in the area seem to maintain decent bookings after I followed the ENEMY method, but you never truly know as there are a lot of variables that come into play.

 Ahhh, that is nice. I would also agree with you that this new format is much better. I like having the nightly cost along with the total including fees listed below. Indeed the best of both worlds!

Post: Recommendations for lock systems on STR's ???

I am glad to see so many recommendations for the Schlage Encode among a lot of the veteran STR owners here. We are looking to purchase it for our first property and these recommendations only reaffirm our decision to purchase it.

As for a video doorbell, obviously Ring is popular with a lot of people out there, but for our primary residence and the STR, we use the Eufy doorbell... largely because it does NOT require a monthly subscription fee. ;)

Hi Chris,

My apologies for the late reply to your post. I wasn't notified that some one else posted on the thread! To bad I missed that meeting at Bob Evan's, as I know exactly where you are referring too. Haha. Does your REIA group have many STR members or related talks often?

 Our property is near the intersection of 501 and 31. We love the location given it is outside city limits and still fairly close to the beach/main strand.

We are looking for any recommendations on a great cleaning service to use. Preferably they would be open to also doing some staging between guests as well. Know any by chance? 🙏🏻

We just got back from renting one. It's so nice to sit on back porch and be able to see and hear the ocean.

We wish! Our property is close to the intersection of 501 and 31, so we are about 10 minutes from the Grand Strand/Beach.

The reason we didn't want a property near the beach is because any STR within the Myrtle Beach city limits is moderately regulated. We are just outside those limits. 😊

Hi fellow STR owners!

My wife and myself just purchased our first STR property in Myrtle Beach and currently are in the process of updating and getting the house rental worthy. We would love to network with other STR owners who may reside in the Myrtle Beach area as well.

I've been doing my due diligence and reading many posts on this forum... it has been extremely eye opening and educational to say the least and now I hope to be able to contribute to the community over time. =)
