Welcome to Bigger Pockets.

Your recent dive into podcasts, books and search for contacts and info sounds a lot like mine. (I posted my new member blog yesterday.)

I hope you find what you are looking for! Who knows? Maybe we'll be able to help each other in the future.

Good Luck!

Thanks Kevin! Those podcast are amazing and help out a lot. But I'll definitely make sure to keep in contact whenever I hit up Texas or decide to do business out there ( which I plan on)

As far as my pictures goes, I didn't even realize it was sideways until I seen this post LOL. So since it stands out, I'll just leave it for now. We can definitely link up and see what ideas we can come up with. Hey this is what BP is all about!

Hello guys, my name is Jeff Elmore, I'm 25 and I am new to Real Estate investing, as well as Bigger Pockets. I've been listening to BP podcast for past 5 days and I am in love with them. Best knowledge you can ask for on the radio nowadays. Reading a lot of books people mention on here have helped me gain more knowledge in real estate too, so I'm very excited to see what BP has to offer and what I can offer to BP. I've always been intrigued with real estate and how house flipping and rental properties work, so now I'm finally taking the steps needed to start my real estate career. I would love the financial freedom and be able to spend more time with my son, so real estate is where I want to be in order to do so. I currently work full time, and plan on purchasing my first home within the next 6 months. I would like to be a buy and hold person, preferably condos and multifamily homes in this career. If anyone could share any opinions on how FHA loans work, 203k loans, or any other loans that may help a first time buyer, I'd greatly appreciate it. I look forward to meeting new people and to continue learning new things here on BP.

Thanks everyone,

Jeff Elmore

Hello BP! I'm fairly new to BiggerPockets, but so far I'm loving everything about it. I just wanted to get a few opinions on the FHA loan and duplexes/triplexes. I plan on purchasing my first home sometime this year and would love for it to be a duplex or triplex here in San Diego, CA. I was told you have to live there for at least year which I plan on doing, but does that mean I can still rent out the other unit/units? Or is that for all of the units?

What's up Jonathan.. I plan on doing the same thing here in San Diego. Do you know what type of property you plan on purchasing first?
