@Anthony Gayden

Thanks for the advice!  I'm gonna be spending tons of time on BP for sure.  What an amazing community here and so much resources for beginners like myself!

@Dan Costantino

I've been looking for REIA's through meetup.com but are there other ways to do that? The local ones I've found do not have any events planned for the near future. I don't think I'll be looking to buy any training courses right now, not with the wealth of information right here on BP.

The market where I live is pretty tough, as any New Yorker can probably tell you, and to be honest I'm intimidated by it.  I would love to learn about long distance investing and finding deals all over the country.  Would finding a partner be the most realistic way of doing that?

@Nicholas Ball

Hey, I'm a complete beginner to the real estate investment game and I'm just wondering what a real estate startup is?  I just graduated and I'm looking for a way to spend my time getting some experience in real estate and this sounds like a possible avenue to explore.  Thanks man!

Hey everyone,

I have a lot of free time on my hands and I want to spend it on educating myself about real estate investing. I plan to attend the local REIA meetings near me to meet people that I can hopefully spend some time learning from.

Did anyone else start out volunteering their time for a local investor/real estate agent?

Hey everyone,

I'm a recent college grad and I am in the very beginning stages of planning my life in REI. I recently started my own small business out of college and although it is doing well, I don't take a salary from it yet, investing profits back into the business. I've been listening to the podcasts and reading whatever I can, and they have been invaluable to me.

I am lucky enough to have a decent chunk of capital that my parents had saved for me since I was a toddler for graduate school. I am no longer pursuing any further higher education and I really want to start putting the money to work for me instead. However, while I have my business, it does not provide an income for me yet. I'm sure that affects my ability to secure a loan. My business is mostly passive so I have massive amounts of free time on my hand. What would be the most effective way of using that time in a way that will benefit my future in REI?

Hey everyone,

My name is Jeff and I'm a recent college graduate working to build the lifestyle that I used to dream about.  In college, I was on the typical track most people my age find themselves: find a promising major, start a career, work until I have enough saved for retirement, and live life during the inbetweens.

Shortly before I graduated, I realized I want more out of my life.  I want to chase the childhood dreams I used to have and not resign myself to working a job I hate.  I started a small business that is becoming moderately successful and I desperately want to grow that money and create a lifestyle that once seemed so impossible.

That's how I ended up here.  I'm here to learn as much as I can and really start to build for the rest of my life.

Looking forward to learning from you all!
