The writers had by far the most turnover in this company - they didn't train us or give us direction and because of that there was a revolving door of writers. The ad buyers, designers, etc. didn't seem to get the axe.

They fired me and I went home and started affiliate marketing (which I learned about from working there). It was much more enjoyable than driving 25 miles each way to deal with all that nonsense and I vowed to never work for anyone but me ever again.

My man, i bet you aren't missing that Woodland Hills heat right about now! close to 100 today! Im in the LA area as well so i get it. I grew up in LA and have been aware of the Eat or be Eaten mentality in the workplace. Like one great poet once said, "Hell is other people." haha

How are you enjoying freedom?

@Kyle J. Absolutely. Thanks for the advice. It will definitely be a mutually beneficial relationship. I value the relationships more than the money.

Have you done many private lending?

I was wondering, for those who are or have used private lending, what interest rates are?

I have friends and family who are interested in helping fund some investments, but I'm unsure of what interest rates everyone gives their family and friends.

Thanks in advance!

Mine was getting denied vacation due to understaffing. I thought to myself,"why should I even ask for permission to enjoy my life?"

Since then, I've focused on making ALL of my time on my own terms. Real Estate and investing has given me inspiration.

What was yours? Inspire!

@Kenneth Garrett thank you! As Warren buffet used to say, be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful!

@Will Fraser you're absolutely right! Although it makes me wonder if the education system (business) can stop the inevitable with their desire and efforts in the face of such change that this pandemic has forced. If the education system was such an essential, then why has it been, dare I say, OPTIONAL in a sense, the last 5 months?

I hope changes do happen, and we as investors will surely be rolling with the punches!

I've been reading news of universities/schools moving towards a new way of education wherein a portion of the year will be done through Zoom/telecommuting.

1. Is anyone invested in a college town where a portion of your portfolio is specifically renting to college students? If so, how are you doing?

2. How do you think this situation will shake out in the long run for investors?

Thanks for your time!

Will commercial lenders lend to residential investors? Thank you!
