Anyone have any recommendations for a CBS (Concrete Block Structure) Contractor in the Naples / Bonita Springs Florida Area? I'm looking to get some quotes to build a smaller (900 sq ft) house that would be Concrete Block and am looking for some recommendations. Any recommendations would be helpful. Thanks!

@Amine E.    Haven't had one in the house yet.... Just the Garage so far. At least tenant had minimum $10k liability insurance which didn't cover all but is currently making monthly payments. Tenant was at a party and claimed they didn't have anything to drink. LOL. The garage collapsed on the car and the fire department had to extricate them.

@David Foster- I saw the ad and TV show featuring it being build in Naples by the airport. It had the garage on the main level with the living space above it. It was cool! I know the newer neighborhoods in Naples have HOAs that require minimum square footage, so they built theirs in a neighborhood without that HOA restriction. The city of Naples doesn't have a minimum sq ft requirement so they were able to get the permit and do it.

I think that it would be cool to build one and then rent out during high season. I'm currently on the hunt for land West of Tamiami Trail in either Naples, Estero, or Ft. Myers to try this out!

@Lois Ginter- I was in the same situation as you. I called my insurance agent, and since I had a commercial policy on my properties, I was able to add a part-time handyman to my policy. It cost $49 a year to add him. Then I took out a workman's comp policy from my same agent.

Hello- Anyone on BP familiar with Tiny Houses in SWFL? I saw an episode on HGTV regarding a Tiny Home in Naples, but wanted more information regarding building codes, etc. It would be awesome to purchase a lot and then build a fixed tiny home there. Any feedback would be appreciated! I know HOAs in some communities have minimum sq ft requirements, but are there areas where there aren't any such requirements? I'd be interested in buying a vacant lot and then building. Closer to the beach, the better!

I agree with others that Weds Evening and Sunday Afternoons seem to get the most interest. BUT, you also get alot more "tire kickers" on Sunday who aren't really interested but want to see whats out there and sometimes just want to have something to do (or so it would seem). I've had people walk thru that weren't looking to move for up to 8 months later! (Like we are going to hold the house for them).

As far as doing open houses, I would just continue that. A serious prospect will show up during the open house. Remember, all it takes is 1 good application.

@Tim Toney-

For a hoarder house I had, I used labor from movinghelp.com, as they can be used to "move" the junk from the house to the dumpster(s). I let them move all the heavy stuff and it was money well spent. I used 4 guys for a few hours and they did a great job in getting most of the stuff out of the house.
