'Grats Stephanie, that makes two of us. I just finished listening through them all as well.

Thanks for the info Paige, definitely informative.

I'm sure I will enjoy the area if we do go through with the move, we visited there last summer and certainly did enjoy our time there.

@Paige Kelsey you spoke of the Colorado Springs market in your first post, are you saying that it is a difficult market to invest in? I am just beginning my research into the area as I am considering moving there in a year or so. I haven't begun investing yet myself and I don't want to throw myself into a market where I am decreasing my chances of success. What would you say about a new investor starting out there?

15 months later and housing prices in Vancouver are still climbing.

Thanks @Mike D'Arrigo and @Ryan Mullin. I am definitely interested in hearing any information that is willingly shared.

We are finding that the financing aspect is the most difficult part of the process to complete. If either of you have advice on private investors or hard money lenders in that area (or any that I mentioned) it would certainly be  appreciated.

Thanks all of you, this certainly is a friendly and welcoming community.

You are correct Jared, Vancouver is an extremely expensive market to own and live in, and my wife and I are actually considering moving away if we can just get enough of a head start in real estate that I can quit my daily grind job as a contractor.

I am working with my father who has already set up our legal and corporate structure. We have purchased one property in Indianapolis which is waiting for funding to go through in order to begin the rehab. That one is set to go back on the market in a few months.

Other locations we are currently searching for property are in Tampa, Atlanta, and in the Southern Louisiana area.

Hello

I'm a Vancouverite just getting started with investing in the US market. I've had a rental or two locally in the past but I'm wanting to get started primarily with rehabbing in the US.

My primary hurdle to overcome is how to find financing to both purchase properties and to fund the renovations. This looks like a fantastic place to start.
