Some great food for thought. After reading other replies I think I’ll take the recommendations not to consider him as a tenant, however help place him with another investor in order to network and establish connections around town. Gives him a chance to prove he’s a good tenant with someone else, take the risk off my plate, and save face at the same time.

Appreciate the advice!

Will be purchasing first single family home investment later this year and wondering how many people would rent out their first investment property ever to family.

Background: Have a good relationship with the brother in law, he just graduated college and needs housing. Responsible for the most part and doesn’t party, more of a video game home body.

Anyone have pros/cons suggestion or advice?
