What is more desirable and improves cash flow more, an extra bedroom or bathroom. I’m looking at both a 2/2 and a 3/1 both in the same price range.

 Sounds like you already have a plan to solve your problem.

Besides that you might be able to find a partner with good credit to cosign/partner on a deal.

 Is it common to get a partner if you plan to house hack?

Missing student loan payments severely impacted my credit score. I am in the process of repairing that. Went from 492 to 620 in about 7 months. While I’m bringing that up I am also working on saving money to be used as a down payment on my first property.

@Vernon Trice III I have been wondering the same thing. I only live about 45 mins from Nashville so that is making it more tempting for me.
