We are new landlords of a SFH with current renters. They are on a 60 day month to month lease. Is it possible to require them to have (get) renters insurance? When would we approach them? We do have homeowners insurance on the property. Thanks BP'ers!!

@Kara Leboeuf there are 3 connected empty land parcels with seperate address that came with the purchase. We are planning on selling those lots and keeping the rental. Then we plan on buying better cash flow rentals for sure:)

Hope that made sense, we are getting the property and lots surveyed next month

@Thomas S. never heard of the M2M permanently. I like the route instantly. Just had to read it, Thanks Thomas!

Questions: 1. We Do have our own survey scheduled for all of the lots connected and rental property lot.

2. Is there a need to ask my survey company to create individual surveys for each lots we are looking to sell or one survey for all of it will suffice?

All cash Joshua Saunders, with land parcels included in the deal that we can sell down the road or now, connected empty parcels to be more specific, with separate addresses. Great question, yes correct, rent not quite covering everything now
