For any sort of advertising you need to post it in the marketplace forum, so you can definitely do that. I would also make sure you include all of your business info in your signature as well as the location and profession sections at the top by your name. Those are the 'allowed' places for your info to go that are shown any time you respond to a post. Similar to @Will Fraser I now know he's a broker in SLC and has property management...so if I needed services there I could reach out to him even though he hasn't posted a solicitation here.

 Bless you, @Matt Devincenzo!  I love the shout-out as an illustration of the process of "add value, don't cram your pitch down all of our throats constantly."

 Kind of an aggressive approach.  I didn't list my business info anywhere and I only posted once on the most off topic forum I could find.

@Jarrod Hannon You may also want to try posting in some Facebook groups targeting investors in the Twin Cities. That's my usual go to place when searching for new subs. Speaking of - I am looking to add another electrician to my team. Currently, I have 7 projects going and need to expand our resources. Let me know if you're interested in talking further.

 Thank you, reply sent

Thanks for being thoughtful here, @Jarrod Hannon!

What got you into electrical work?

Before I started with this career I was given the opportunity by my now wife to go to college.  I ended up going with electrician because I knew that electricity wasn't going away any time soon so it would be a good choice.  Now here I am 10 years later and finally started my own company and I am so glad I chose to go with being an electrician because it has opened up doors for so many other opportunities that I never would have thought of.

I'm a new electrical contractor in Minnesota and I know there is some place in the forums to advertise, but I haven't seen where anyone posts their advertising. Can anyone point me in the right direction, please? I don't want to be disrespectful and post in the wrong spot so I figured I would ask in this forum first. Thanks in advance.

@Nathan G.

That's the 1st thing I was looking for, but I don't see it anywhere. I'm on my phone for 99% of this so I'm not looking in the right spot or I need to get on my computer. Thanks for the Facebook tip, I didn't even think of that.

@Corey Hawkinson

Thanks for the help, Corey. I don't know for sure how to send a message directly, but I think I got it when I hit the "connect" button.

Hi all, I am looking to see if there are any networking opportunities such as events or meetups or even just people who want to talk shop. I'm an electrician and own my own company and I want to find ways to use that to help me start out with a deal.

Thank you so much James and Danielle.  I've been an electrician for almost 10 years now and can do almost anything and if not I figure it out but starting a company is a new thing to me and I am quickly learning there is WAY more involved than I ever thought so I really appreciate all the advice.  I do not have a website or business registered yet.  I set up an appointment with the lawyer office to get started and register and create an entity.  You're advice on an apprentice makes sense.  I'm just excited and nervous about it all and Don't want to make any mistakes.
