The deal that I was looking at fell-through; the property was in my stretch zone, and after speaking to the owner, he was charging rents that were 80% lower than the competition, and the expenses were more than I estimated. Although I could raise them, doing that during coronavirus just isn't right.

With that in mind, an extra shout of appreciation to both of you, I'll follow up with messages.

I currently live in the Silicon Valley and have $70000 saved up, and when I realized that I could buy a property for ~$200,000 in Florida, I realized that if I househack the right property, I could quit my day job (I'm unsure if I actually want to quit my job, but having the option is great!).

I found a for-sale-by-owner property I like in the area, and they seem motivated. Before I jump in, I want to confirm that Tampa, Florida is a good place to invest, and I'm curious how landlords there are being impacted during this era of coronavirus. And if you're in the area, I'd love to connect.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts, thanks in advance!
