Welcome Dayton. My wife and I fairly new too and in the networking portion as well. A great place to start is the REIA monthly meetings. I just became a member and been to 2 meet ups in Honolulu. Maybe we could meet out there or coffee and sit & talk story.

Congrats Scot on taking the steps and moving into 2nd flip too. Hopefully I'll be following behind as I still work on getting my team and networking.  Keep up the good work and continue to share and motivate.

Mucho Mahalos @Michael Borger! Sounds like your getting the best of both worlds with the Mexican food and Aloha of the islands. Appreciate your words of encouragement. I know it's not at all easy but it's doable as you've done. Thanks again.

Mahalo @Paul Timmins.  Appreciate the feedback and will keep it top of mind as we are networking. Honestly I've always hated reading. I'm 44 and read probably 8-10 books prior to last week. With this new passion I have a growing list and finish a book in a couple days.  I've got 2 books down and currently reading 2 books.  Thanks again.

Aloha Everyone, coming at you from you guessed it, Hawaii. Just a little about myself: I'm happily married with 4 beautiful children (ages 11-22 years) and 1 darling 1 year old grandson. I grew up in Monterey, lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for some time, spent 12 years during the worst times of Stockton real estate and finally moved here 3 years ago. Since we short-selled 6 years ago we've been renters and focused on the 9-5 job to support the family. My wife and I are going to do this business together and take it to our next dream, financial freedom. Real estate investing probably has always been a dream for 15 years off and on, but never really dove in like we're doing now. BP has given us the courage, understanding and the great community I've been reading in the forum is very knowledgeable & encouraging.

Got to start somewhere, so wholesaling is our focus. Would like to quickly understand flipping while wholesaling and a couple years own / rent. Little to no money down is also what we're aiming for. In six-nine months we plan to reach our goal of supporting the family without the current 9-5 six figure salary.

Attending our first REI meeting in a couple weeks and planned meet ups with Realtor starting next week. Of course hoping for mentor guidance, but even more so friendships, partnership and networking. In Hawaii it's about helping each other and as I see on BP, there is already much Aloha. We hope to connect in the future with REI's in Hawaii, California Central Valley, Monterey Bay, San Francisco Bay and Las Vegas Areas since we are familiar with those areas. Thank you in advance for your support.

Mahalo,

John
