@Aaron K.

You are 100% correct. It is a comfort level. With education and understanding of how anything works, comes decreased risk. A decreased level of risk can bring greater comfort in my opinion. You make a great point regarding the restaurant. That is part of the feedback I’m looking for

Right now we are for apart on REI. She doesn't keep me around because I'm a great communicator. BP forums are great, that's why I'm hoping for a blog or link that I can give her to bridge the gap.

Thanks @Ron Brown

@Nicole Heasley Beitenman  It’s nearly impossible for me to invest in my area as I’m in NJ. I listen to 10-20 BP podcasts per week and listen to at least 2 real estate audiobooks per week. I’m also looking for places to move once I get my kids through our high school. Ideally, we would have a couple buy and hold in place, then house hack once we move. Looking at Milwaukee, NH, and open to other places as well.

I'm new to REI and I'm ready to get my feet wet. However, my wife is not totally on board. She has concerns investing out of state as well as other concerns. I have a major advantage as I can read/listen to books or podcasts for at least 6 hours per day. I believe she is skeptical because of lack of knowledge and education. I need this to be a team effort and really want to work with her. I'd like to know if anyone has any articles, blogs, or any other resources that can lay out the basics of the business. Thanks!!

@Matt Maurice

Thank you for your insightful input. I just read your post on another forum post and it has given me some pause. There is a lot to learn and I appreciate everyone's input on BP. I'll join the Brew City REI and reach out to @Marcus Auerbach.

Hi! I am new to real estate investing. I’m looking into Milwaukee for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I believe that I can afford to invest there. Secondly, my wife has family in and around Milwaukee and we have spent some time there. I live in coastal NJ and the prices and taxes are insanely high. I truly enjoy Milwaukee and Wisconsin and have thought about moving there in the future.

I have listened to podcasts pertaining to Milwaukee and have been trying to do as much research as possible. I have found the forums on BP and the people to be very helpful and insightful. My strategy is to buy and hold single and multi family homes. I’m open to any and all knowledge and criticism as I understand that I have a lot to learn. While I may not have much to offer now, I truly appreciate the knowledge from the BP members, especially those in Milwaukee!

I’m interested in a few properties that are under 50k. I have enough funds to pay for one property cash. I’d rather not do that and perhaps use that money for multiple down payments. Is the any way to obtain financing from a bank under 50k?

Hi! I’m looking into purchasing a 9 unit property. I’d like to check all of the boxes and do my due diligence. A dealbreaker may be the cost of the monthly utilities. In this area, the landlord pays for everything except electric. I’d like to know the process for checking with utility companies. Whether it can be done online or with a phone call. Thanks for your input!
