Tthank you, Jorge

Do they mind if a new person just shows up, or does one need to be introduced by someone else?

Greetings all

I have just joined this community a few weeks ago and the advice I see posted a lot is: Meet your local peers!

When and where is the next meeting for biggerpockets members in the general Vancouver, WA area?  ....if not, would you like to get together with me and others for an informal meet and greet at a local puplic  place.  Vancouver's public library has a conference room open to the public; I think I could inquire about dates and times if enough people are interested. We could organize beagles, or donuts, coffee and/ juice and all chip in to cover the cost?

Topics/Questions: Where are the hot neighborhoods to buy and own or to rehab and flip; is the market saturated with opportunity hunters;  how long are properties on the market; average time from seeing/finding, closing, rehabbing, staging/marketing and reselling?  Just a few questions I might ask some of the investors in our neck of the woods.

What about you?

Is there an upcoming meeting of bp's in the Portland OR area?

I am looking forward to your replies and also to meeting a bunch of you in person.

thanks

James

Anjana,

I am just getting started in exploring real estate and I know too little about the real estate market in general, and none about the market and trends in Germany.  From my experience of living in Regensburg, Frankfurt and Heidelberg as an adult, Bavaria struck me as always a good area of growth and prosperity.  I would imagine Muenchen to be  a hot market.  I would also think that any multiunit Studenten Heim could be an income source.  Those Studenten I recall live at times in what we would consider shoe box size studios.  So maybe any major University town?  Just layman feedback however, sorry.  Hope we could meet sometimes and share stories.

Servus,

James

Thank you all for your warm welcome and advice; I am taking it all in and it is still so overwhelming.  I have a good feeling about this community; nobody has tried to up-sell me or back funnel me into anything, or try to send me to their Webpage full of Gurus and "must have" if you wan to" get rich" packages.

What a breath of fresh air this is!

......be patient with me getting too active and blogging and posting right away.  I have a lot of reading and studying to do. I am not ignoring your out reach and welcome, just observing a bit from afar until I can wrap my mind around it all.

..................thank you all again for your warm and inviting welcome!

Hello Anjana

Grüße aus Vancouver, WA und ein frühes herzliches willkommen zurück zu den Staten, wenn auch immer.

I just joined this  community yesterday, and noticed your location as Saarbruecken in the province of  Saarland , Germany.  I moved near to there to a town called Saarlouis in 1961 as a kid from Jersey City, NJ.  I went to  their public school all the way through 5th grade before moving to Frankfurt, and no, not as an Army brat.  I joined the Army on my own much later.

What a wonderful but small World!

Oh, I do Apologize for misspelling your Name, Brett.  I truly hate when that happens. I have such fat fingers for such a small keypad.

Greetings all

I stumbled unto this site, well not stumbled, linked to it from ChristianPF.  Hopefully I can perform my due diligence here about real estate investing.  I come from a mental health background and my knowledge of real-estate investing is limited to owning my own home.   When I read your posted advice about being specific on what area of the business I want advice on:  I don't know a flip from a lien from a holding to a lease right now. I do however plan on spending some time navigating this site, reading/watching your tutorials with the hope of eventually graduating to the level of being worthy to expect contact with colleagues and peers in my immediate geographic area, or virtually.  The Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR areas are beautiful parts of the Pacific North West.  I would recommend a visit to anyone who appreciate wilderness, mountains, pacific ocean beaches and non tropical rainforests and so much more.  Can you tell, I love living here.

Anyhow, so far the flavor and feel of this community has been pleasant and inviting.  It  could be the beginning of a brand new adventure. Thanks for inviting me in. James
