I'm looking to find a property manger who can assist with managing a portfolio of 5-10 buy and hold rentals in the DC area. Most of the property management firms I have found through basic web searches are solely focused on STRs. Does anyone have any recommendations? Or can point me in a good direction for my search? Thank you in advance!

Thanks for the feedback everyone. My application has 7 questions which are really basic information. I request no financial information and do not require background checks since the hospitals already run checks on who they employ. I decided to move on from that experience and stay firm with my system in place. I actually have a walk through with a new nurse today so I hope things go well on this one.

Thank you again!

James

New investor here. I just listed my property for the first time as a short term rental for travel nurses. The possible tenant came to check out the property and we agreed on the terms but I wanted him to fill out a quick application through my property management software (Avail). He seemed ok with at, but after I sent the link to him he said he refuses to use that software to secure housing. I'm wondering if anyone has ran into this? Especially with this being a short term rental. Any advice or insight would be appreciated!

Thanks,

James

@Tyler B Collins

Good evening Tyler. I have attended a few REIA meetings in Charleston over the past two years, but the pandemic has really put a block on things. But through those meet ups I do know there are many investors who are doing very well in Charleston. I actually have tried to help a few of my W-2 job consultants find housing for longterm projects they are working on and had no luck finding and investors that had open properties so I would think demand is still pretty high for the area regardless of the recent population decline. If I hear of the local REIa starting meetings back up I will definitely reach back out to you if you would like.

Hey Jobie, I might be able to put you in contact with investors and relators who work with investors in the area. Let me know if I can help.

Jobie,

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's passing. I live in Charleston, but invest in Beckley. However I am a member of the local REIA and know quite a few investors. If you'd like I can connect you to a few of them who are actively looking for properties. I don't' know what all of their criteria are in regards to existing tenants. But it might give you a lead... Just let me know.

Hi. I'm an investor in West Virginia, but I have family land in Appomattox County. I'm actually looking to find some information about STRs in the area and if there's a market for it. My thought process is with the history all around the area there would be demand for it. Would anyone care to share their thoughts on this?

Hey Manmath D.,

Beckley is one of the areas I'm looking into in. Do you have the posting I could look at?

Thanks,

James
