Post: My first sit down with an experienced investor

I've recently been put in touch with an experienced investor who owns "A lot" of properties. We're supposed to meet and sit down for lunch within the next few days.

On my end I'm trying to see if he'd be a decent mentor who I can get some face time with, especially since I have no experience in the real estate game. I'd like to keep the conversation light but focused on real estate. So with that being said, what kind of questions should I ask? How should I prepare myself? I have a few ideas in my head but I don't want to waste his time or mine.

Good evening to everyone on BP. It goes without saying that I am not only new to the community but to real estate investing as well. In a way I could say that I stumbled into it by a "Related Video" and several hours later I had an itch that I just couldn't scratch. I knew that investing in real estate was going to be the key to my future and a life that my family deserves. Again by a happy accident, about four days ago, I stumbled upon BP as well as the BRRRR method. Now the vision for my future is much more clear. As it stands I have plans in place to get the ball rolling using the BRRRR method as the catalyst.

My wife and I are in the process of buying our first home which is going to be our primary residence for the time being. Once the dust settles I'm putting my nose to the grindstone. If my math is correct I will be able to raise enough money for a down payment on my first rental property within 12 months. This gives me 12 months to educate myself, study my market, run numbers, network and build my strategy. Once everything starts falling into place my first goal is to have 10 rental properties in my portfolio within 12 months. I know that when the time comes I'll utilize other methods outside of BRRRR but I believe that BRRRR is my proverbial shoe horn into real estate.

in any case, Im ecstatic that I finally found a site packed to the gills with real estate minded people.
