I'm personally more of a fan of one on one coaching, I try to stay away from group stuff. But to each their own obviously. The networking is great with group courses.

Why don't you look into one on one coaches?

Networking in real estate can feel like an uphill battle. When I first started, I found it really challenging to connect with the right mentors and filter through the overwhelming amount of information out there. It’s still a journey for me, and I’ve realized how essential surrounding yourself with a strong community can be in overcoming these obstacles.

Question for everyone: I’m curious, what’s been your biggest challenge in building a strong real estate network? Is it finding reliable information? Connecting with the right people? Understanding and underwriting complex deals?

Let’s get a conversation going. I’d love to hear your stories, struggles, and any advice you might have for others. Real estate can be tough, but I’m a big believer that with the right support and community, we can all succeed and spread our knowledge to one another.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

I am very direct as many on BP are aware. EVERYONE says," Hey let's network I want in " OK, OK so what "value " do you bring to the table? Why should I " network " with you? Do you have money, or props? If neither, why am I going to " network" with you? What makes you stand out vs the thousands of others that " want in" and never do a darn thing.

I HOPE you understand what I am saying :)

Thanks for your directness—I definitely respect your viewpoint

I’m fully committed to advancing in real estate, and I understand that meaningful networking is about mutual value. While I might not have substantial properties or capital yet, I’m serious about investing in myself and making this journey a success.

I’ve noticed that many experienced members on BP are generous with their advice, offering to answer questions and share insights on their experiences. However, I also realize that true mentorship for me often requires a deeper commitment. I’m curious—do you think there’s a way to approach this where I could offer some form of compensation in dollars for a coach's time? I’d be grateful for the opportunity to learn from some of the great mentors in real estate.

Hey BiggerPockets community,

I hope you're all doing well! I'm reaching out because, like many of you, I'm on a journey to master real estate investing. Specifically, I'm focused on multifamily real estate and other commercial opportunities. However, I'm still early in my journey and realize how valuable guidance from an experienced mentor or coach could be.

I'm looking to connect with others who are also seeking mentorship in real estate investing. Whether you're interested in house flipping, multifamily properties, financing, or just general real estate investing, I'd love to collaborate, share resources, and maybe even find the right mentor together.

Building a supportive network is crucial, and I believe that by connecting with others who are in a similar position, we can all help each other grow. If you're in the same boat and are serious about taking your real estate investing to the next level, let’s connect!

Feel free to reply to this post or send me a direct message. Let’s build a community where we can learn and succeed together!

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Best,
Jake

Post: 21 Year Old Looking For Mentor / Coach

Hello everyone,

I am fairly new to real estate and am finding roadblocks along my journey. I would love to be able to find a coach/mentor to help me along the way. I would be willing to pay to have a mentor answer specific questions or for a short coaching call on deals that I am working on. How many people are out there in my shoes looking for mentors?

Hey all,

I was wondering if any of you guys in here are currently or have recently done any sub to / seller financing deals. If so, where/how did you find distressed and motivated sellers that were willing to do those deals?

Hello everyone,

I am looking to buy my first turnkey property, likely somewhere in the midwest. Instead of looking on Zillow, Redfin, ect.... Are there any turnkey companies/platforms that anyone has found useful to buy a single family rental property?

-Jake

Hey mate,

These guys are the best IMO and have all stood the test of time:

REI Nation
JWB
Spartan Invest

There are others but don't know much about them.

I have stalked the above 3 for many moons 👍

Much success

 Dear Engelo,

Perfect. Thank you for the great suggestions!

Engelo,

appreciate the mention and you stated three very good companies.  You overlooked your own company in Ohio!

Jake,

this list of 4 companies are a great starting point.  You should schedule a call with all 4 and learn what they specialize in, the markets and how they operate.  I am confident that one or two will stand out in meeting your particular needs or will feel very comfortable to you. From there, continue your conversations and don’t let procrastination slow you down.  Don’t be in a hurry either!  Let the conversations you have build your confidence and when you are ready, begin building your portfolio.   I need to rush, but definitely take the steps to learn for yourself what matters most to you and who makes you feel the most comfortable.

Best of luck as you get started.

Chris

 Chris,

Thank you for the advice. This will be my first rental property, so I appreciate the kind words!
