@Sergeous Anikin

Welcome! I’m still fairly new to the game haha. I’m active duty Marine Corps over here on the coast of NC. I don’t have much knowledge to offer but I would love to connect. It’s a great area and there is a lot of opportunity. Welcome to BP.

@Katie Balascsak

Hi Katie! One of my biggest worries is vacancy. How long do your properties usually stay vacant? What are some good practices to alleviate vacancy? Also what do you see as far as tenant length of stay? I know the military has people moving around constantly so have you had any issues with this? Thank you for your reply!

@Chris Levarek

Thanks for replying Chris! How are you finding your deals out here? I know markets are different all around but especially starting out it’s hard to find a really great deal.

@Kevin Hunter

Thanks for replying! Do you have any absolute do’s or do nots for investing around bases? I’m looking for buy and hold properties, my first property is located 5 minutes from base because I know a short commute is attractive but I’m seeing a lot of activity and some great possibilities about 30 minutes away in Richlands. I want to centralize so I can become an “expert” in one location. Any thoughts on how much distance would be too far before I start loosing possible tenants?

@David Pere

Yes sir, of course! House hacking is my game. I am actually looking for an investor friendly agent currently so if you have one you recommend it would help me out greatly. Thanks for your response!

Hello all!

I'm looking to hear some input on different strategies for investing in rental properties near military bases and utilizing the VA home loan for investment purposes, or even just people who know the Jacksonville, NC area. I bought my primary residence last June and am looking to acquire another property and rent out my current home in a few months. I've got a million and five questions that might be very basic for most of you but I'd appreciate any bit of input. Even just a hello!
