Actionable steps are something I need to do more of. I do small ones every day like analyze deals and seek more knowledge. But none of my steps really take me anywhere. I get I won't blow up over night and that this is a long process that takes a lot of work. But I feel like the little things I do have become procrastination to the big stuff.

I will never stop learning and I took down all the books and podcasts you all recommended and will take them to heart but while doing so I need to get out there and build my network like you all suggested. I found some local meet-ups that encompass Oregon and Washington and found an investor who will let me give him my pitch over some coffee @Taylor L.

Thank you all for taking the time to hand out advice like this. It is very helpful and means a lot.

If there is one thing I have learned from the Bigger Pockets Real Estate Podcast, it is that you must focus on what you are good at and stop spreading yourself thin. I like and am good at building personal connections with others. I am quick to earn someone's trust and are good at communicating ideas affectively. It seems like syndicating is something I would enjoy and hopefully be good at. I do not have any sales experience and asking someone for money is a little daunting but at some point you have to take action.

So, how did you start syndicating and what sort of mistakes and or good decisions did you make in the process?

@Mike Nuss the HOA we will pay is 350. It includes all utilities except for electricity which is something we would have the tenant pay. The HOA does not have anything against renting either so as far as condos go I think it is a fairly good deal. There is also a lot of updating that needs to get done so I have a rehab budget of 12 thousand and a lot of sweat equity.

I have never heard of meetup.com or the two groups in town you suggested but they are great resources I otherwise never would have heard of. I will absolutely frequent those events!

Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to a beginner like me. It means a great deal.

Hello! My name is Jacob Frison. I am 22 years old and married with a 7 month pregnant wife. I was born and raised in Gresham Oregon with no real emphasis on financial literacy. I moved to Oahu for four years while in the Marine Corps and noticed that almost every wealthy individual that I met is in real estate. I want to get into buy and hold real estate but do not have a lot of capital or a portfolio. Currently I am trying to buy a condo that I would like to turn into a rental because houses in the area make me feel like I would over extend myself. I am also working while studying to get my brokers license.

What should I do?
