I haven't attended yet but stumbled across this meetup that was started by folks here: https://www.meetup.com/SF-Real-Estate-open-format/

Perhaps I'll see you at the next one.

Thank you for the lead  @Kimberly Jones!

Do you have first-hand experience using them?  Just heard about them through reputation?  Have you heard anything about the two I mentioned in the post above?

Thanks for your help!

Hello, I made a similar request in the New Orleans specific forum but I think that area is dead so please forgive me if cross-posting is frowned upon here :/

I'm looking to find a solid property management company for a rental unit my folks have in New Orleans.  They have self managed the properties for years but due to new life circumstances are no longer able to do so.

I started by looking on www.narpm.org to find Latter & Blum as well as Soniat Realty. Reviews seem to be mixed for both of these depending if I look on Google or Yelp. I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with those or any other company that they can recommend, or any other tips they can offer.

Thanks!

Welcome @Chris Bryson!

I'm also in San Francisco starting to learn how to get involved with out-of-state investing... have you been to any meetups in the city that you've found useful/informative? I'm trying to figure out what other channels for learning and networking others have found useful.

cheers!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

@Rachael A. Tanner - where in the city is your condo? Our lease is up on our rental and we are starting to think about our next move.  You can PM me the details :)

@Junior Soares - thats great to hear that you are making it work!  congrats!  Might I ask where in Michigan and why you chose that particular market?

@Brock VandenBerg - we are exactly trying to figure out how to do this right now; my current job will keep us in the Bay Area for at least the next couple of years so finding a property we can house hack is certainly an option we are considering.

Post: Good property managers in New Orleans? (French Quarter)

Hello folks!

I'm hoping someone here has a good recommendation for a property manager that services the French Quarter.

My father and mother-in-law live Uptown and have a one bedroom rental unit in the French Quarter that until recently they have managed themselves.  Its currently sitting vacant and due to other life circumstances they are no longer able to manage the property themselves.

Any recommendation for a great property management company in the area would be appreciated.

cheers!

Hello there BP!

My wife and I have been listening to the podcast for a while and are interested in learning how we can use real estate investing to help us along the path to financial freedom, so we can spend more time with our child (and future children!)

We are just getting started and currently don't own any properties.  I can't figure out how anyone makes money in rentals in the Bay Area so we will likely look to invest in markets that are long distance from where we currently live, but in areas we could see ourselves living in one day in the future: Southern California (North County, San Diego), Oregon, and Louisiana.

Looking forward to soak up as much I can and meeting the many fine folks on these forums as well as finding areas I can help others out (I build websites for a living).

Cheers!
