@Jay Helms I am actually looking into one now. Long distance and trying to charge me a hefty fee to be mentored.  Would love to join the team but always nervous about investing money into someone that I don't know.

@Nathan Gesner   Thank you for your feedback, but I think you are misunderstanding my point here. I am not trying to put down any mentors or call them selfish, but there are many people out here that give them a bad name.I think we can agree on that?

I am a successful business owner and have definitely taking care of people that take care of me. Not the least bit selfish here.

On the other hand I wouldn't expect anyone to do anything for nothing. Also, I know my time as anyone elses is very valuable. I wouldn't waste that.

So if I an find a good trustworthy mentor I bet we could both benefit from it.

Always think of the long term.

@Ed Emmons Thank you again and congratulations on your success. I have been reading books, watching youtube videos, listening to podcasts, going to seminars and even visiting real estate agents. I guess my thing is and what your saying is just go get the hands on experience. I can be my best mentor.

I guess my fear is making mistakes, but I will make it happen

@Ed Emmons. Thank you for this information and your help. I will definitely use this in my mission moving forward. I have already updated some of my profile and looked for local events. I appreciate your feedback.  Have you ever used a mentor?  How long have you been in real estate?

Do you think looking for a mentor is a good strategy?

I wouldn't  mind having a good mentor with experience that could minimize the risks I take and lead me in the right direction.

The problem is that it is hard to find someone reliable and trustworthy. We live in a business and selfish world, Many people (Not All) are out for themselves.  They like to take advantage of the not so experienced and try to make a quick buck.

These are just my thoughts and would like to know what are yours?

All information and feedback is appreciated.

Thank you
