I was just notified 47th Ward Alderman, Matt Martin, is introducing an ordinance in City Hall to “follow Los Angeles’ lead, and ensure that renters who are impacted by COVID-19 have 12 months to make rent payments without fear of late fees or eviction.” His video on his social media only asks for 90 days of forbearance for homeowners. Please contact your alderman offices tomorrow to ensure they hear from property owners!

I have the same setup in my property. I had a washer/dryer combo unit installed as I didn’t have room to stack machines.

My plumbing needs repair in the floor of a basement bedroom currently occupied by tenant. I did not see guidance in the landlord tenant ordinance on what the city requires. Has anyone been successful in having a tenant temporarily move into living room for repairs? Or is it customary for landlord to provide Airbnb/hotel until they can move back into their room? The basement has a full family room that all items can be moved into luckily so we don’t have to take anything offsite.
