I have a triplex that I am refinancing. up and down duplex and then a back separate unit with an attached garaged.  The lender will not refinance because the apparaiser noted we do not have proper egress.  She is stating we need two forms of egress.  We have steps like shown with a door in each unit and bedroom windows.  I've never seen a triplex with 2 sets of stairs...the refi company is telling me to try putting in ladders in the windows of each unit which also seems crazy.  Does anyone know the rules for this?  I've called building inspection and they think she's wrong and I've called an appraiser and they think she's wrong.
