Hi all,

I am getting close to selling my primary home and will be making profit off the sale. It has only been my home for 10 months. I am moving to another city for a job that is more than 50 miles away, so I am exempt to being taxed on the money I will be making. Is there any paperwork I need to fill out before selling the home to ensure I do not get taxed on the money? Or will I just have to hire a CPA next spring to make sure my taxes get filed correctly?

Depends what you plan to do with it, if you want to flip yeah it is probably not a great time, if you want to live in it then as long as you have a steady job and employment and plan to stay there a while you'll probably be fine.  Could you kick yourself in 6 months because prices go down? Yes. Could you kick yourself in 6 months because prices recovered? Yes.  As long as it is a low risk purchase you'll most likely be fine.

Yes, I am planning on living in it and that is why I am on the fence right now. Thanks for the quick reply!

I am currently looking for a single family in the Boise area, but I am starting to get worried about the possibility of the bubble bursting.
