The problem here is fairly simple.........the inspectors may become power hungry and can literally cite anything they want.  Some of these houses can't be given away and a long violation list will seriously squeeze or even bankrupt most landlords......

I purchased a house in an eastern suburb to flip.........I had close to 60 violations on the POS with only $3k in escrow. It's ridiculous as the house is in almost perfect condition.  Every switch....every faucet....every lock......1500 for a piece of carpet...it's almost funny......

I know every investment is different.....but most of the people I speak with stay out of Cleveland proper and East Cleveland.   In my opinion this will stifle any future investment and now I know why so many people are thinking of getting out....big headache for any landlord.

Hello all:

How many of you are in the Cleveland market?   I would like to connect with fellow investors......always interested in networking and learning from those with experience.

Thanks

Howard

Thanks for the post.....I was just approached to buy Duplex's on the west side of Cleveland........just 1 more reason to stay out of Cleveland proper.   Even though I can handle my own legal matters I have no interest in the headaches this will bring.
