Hey everyone, after a good while of reading and learning, I think I'm ready to start looking for a property. I'm sure there's still a lot I don't know, but it's time to get my feet wet.

Currently, I'm trying to find a mortgage broker who has a vast knowledge of VA loans. Maybe that's common. I'm not sure.

If anyone could point me in the right direction with a referral, it would be greatly appreciated.

@Brandon Turner

Thank you for the welcome, and I'm not ashamed to say that the article you linked is the one that convinced me I needed to learn more about real estate investing.

@Russ Scheider

That is great to hear. I'm looking forward to hearing from you again. Thank you for the welcome.

@Paul Timmins

Thank you for the welcome and the links. I will check them out, and I especially like the advice about attending REIA meetings. I can't wait.

Again, I just want to thank everyone for making me feel welcome and taking the time to help me out. It's very much appreciated. I look forward to when I can do the same for other people.

@Elizabeth Colegrove

Thank you for sharing and giving me some insight into how investing can be while in the military. I would like to talk to you more if you're willing.

Hi,

My name is Bobby Hornsby. I'm 24, and I'm currently enlisted in the Navy. I live in Goose Creek, SC where I'm still in training. It keeps me busy, but I'm willing to sacrifice free time to learn something so valuable. Almost a year ago I started reading about investing, and it's held my interest ever since. I'm more ambitious than ever before.  At first, I thought I needed to "know more" before I could come on here and talk to people, but I'm going to give it a shot anyway.

From the few books I've read, I think I would like to start out with duplexes, triplexes, or a 4-plex so I could keep the loan private. I imagine working my way up to apartment buildings. I won't always be able to live around properties that I may buy due to being in the Navy though. I don't want that to stop me, but it is a worry I have.

Looking forward to talking to some of you. This is exciting!
