It looks like my fannie mae deal is going through. The closing agent claims the sale is not affected by the moratorium because it's already foreclosed. Huh? Haven't we seen REO properties pulled off the market after foreclosure?

Anyway, they are asking to move up the closing date which I take as a good sign.

We're also coming into Holiday Season. RE sales start slowing down in October and stay flat through New Years. Good time to buy while everybody else is distracted with their shopping lists and turkey dinners.

Alcohol and cigarettes are also good trade commodities if the currency becomes worthless.

Not at all. I haven't seen the pre-recession poverty map but it probably doesn't look much different except the numbers are higher. California has always had low income areas because of immigrant farm workers which is most likely the same reason southern Texas has high numbers due to agriculture.

Typically, the south has a lower cost of living along with higher poverty rates. Mississippi usually ranks high on the poverty scale. Louisiana is still suffering from Katrina and New Mexico has a higher population of native American Indians on reservations.

The poor are getting new neighbors...the middle class.

Gee, I didn't realize the old forum was "broke". It seems like the pages take longer to load with all the "improvements" and I still have my high speed internet connection, same as before.

Used to be over 800 a few years back but when I checked it a couple days ago it was at 792.

Post: Help finishing tiles

You can run caulking across the top of the tile or for a more finished look, trim the edge with moulding and hope the tiles are set level.

Depends on the type of tile. I seal it all just because I think it's easier.

No different than if you were hanging them on drywall but you'll need a masonry drill bit. Stick some masking tape on the tile and mark your holes on the tape. This helps from keeping the drill from jumping around when you start the hole.
