I plan to get a mortgage for the rental property. If I plan to manage the rental through LLC, do I HAVE to transfer the mortgage to the LLC or I can still hold the mortgage on my own name? If I dont have too, if the LLC get sued, does it mean it has no asset since it has no property under it?

I understand it is hard to get mortgage for LLC. So can I get a mortgage under my own name and create an LLC and operate the rental under LLC but don't transfer the rental property to LLC so I can take the benefit of tax credit and liabiilty protection but no headache of dealing with bank to transfer the mortgage under the LLC name?
