Hi there! I applied for a DSCR loan and the terms include vague language indicating they may be a penalty if paying the loan early. Is this common for these types of loans? Is there a typical minimum period where the penalty applies, like 3-5 years? Can this be negotiated?

Just an update, I decided to use apartments.com and have been using it for a year now, and I am pretty happy with it. So far my tenants seem to like it and I definitely love the constant updates on payments, the reminders for lease end, the tools to renew or create another state-specific lease, and the ability to keep everything organized in one platform. However, I want to be clear that this platform has not been effective in driving traffic when I was leasing. I use it in 3 different properties and so far, I get nearly all the leads from Zillow. 

@Joshua Strickland makes sense. Love both areas, but seemed like north Georgia would be easier for those flying in.

Hello Kennith. I am also looking into buying my first vacation in Gatlinburg or Hellen, Georgia and came across your post. I was wondering if in your experience this market is still a good place for a first vacation rental. I would be managing it myself (I currently manage 4 other properties I own in FL while working full time). Thanks for any advice.

I live in FL and am looking for my first short-term cabin in the mountains. I have enjoyed vacations in both N. Ga and N. Carolina but don't know which of the two markets would be better for a short-term rental or if there is another area I should be looking at for a cabin. Any advice to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!
