Investment Info:

Single-family residence buy & hold investment.

Purchase price: $220,000
Cash invested: $60,000
Sale price: $290,000

We kept the property as a rental for about a year. My mother in law helped us with the money, unfortunately she wanted to sell it before making money.

What made you interested in investing in this type of deal?

I lived in Los Angeles, CA. I'm currently living in Carmel, In. There is just so much potential here.

Single-family residence fix & flip investment.

Purchase price: $82,900
Cash invested: $20,000
Sale price: $167,500

First flip. Not a lot of money, good experience :)

What made you interested in investing in this type of deal?

House was in bad condition but had potential. It just needed some TLC. I've always liked Real Estate.

How did you finance this deal?

I had cash from my home which I sold back in my country.

Lessons learned? Challenges?

Finding a deal can be the most challenging part. However, it can be equally frustrating when contractors don't show up or aren't prepared to work.
Also, time is a crucial factor when it comes to making money in Real Estate. It's unfortunate that we were only able to work on weekends, which might have affected the profitability of the deal
