Buying Distressed Properties!

Mike Byers will provide a road map of the ins and outs of buying distressed properties.

Mike has more than 40 years of real estate investing under his belt, and is inspired to share his experience!

Here are an example of what Mike says you need to look for:

     Storm drains to street?
Did the property get a permit on the last addition?
Has the mobile home been moved more than once?
Floors are uneven in the house?
     Will the roof need replaced?
Getting a under the house inspection?
Gutters, shrubs to near the house, illegal deck railing, and etc.
     Single pain windows and doors?

Please join us!

First time attendees get in free!

*Just purchase your complete dinner for just $12.

Please plan on eating at the Holiday Inn. The dinner is $12 per person, and is a great value.

Focus Your Real Estate Investing Lens "How should I get started?"

I get asked this question a lot, and my answer is the usual: "It depends." I've used that answer ever since working collections for the IRS.
It's a good answer, because it is the beginning of exploring what is important.
Because everyone's situation is unique, and we should take a look at a few things:

We can sum the questions up with these five biggies:

  • What are your strengths?
  • What are your weaknesses?
  • What is your short term goal?
  • What is your long term goal?
  • What is the current market like?

At the main meeting we are going to explore these areas, and delve into how to get started in real estate.
This meeting is for everyone, as we will want to hear thoughts from the experts too.

Please plan on eating at the Holiday Inn. The dinner is $12 per person, and is a great value.

Plus, your buying dinner, pays for the room and service. BTW, gratuity is included in the $12 price.

This is the first time that I have multiple rehab projects going on at the same time. It's also the first time that I have decided to borrow the funds for the rehab.

It's awesome that we can borrow money for the purchase and the rehab. So, at this meeting I have asked some experts to speak about the nuances of borrowing funds for the rehab.

REHAB LOANS

Today Private Lenders are offering funding for the Rehab. Whether it's a Fix-N-Flip, or an FHA Loan, today's market is keen on lending for the rehab.

Come listen an ask questions to three very experienced people in this arena.

Speaking:

  • Darryl Craig, who has completed more than a hundred flips.
  • Brad Larsen, who is not only an investor, but also a contractor.
  • Travis Wandell who represents the lender side, with Veristone Capital.

Hope to see you there!

Grace

PS: Please plan on eating dinner together at 6 PM, and get to know some other awesome investors!  Dinner is only $12 :-)

Mystery Meeting for Members of Oregon REIA

Wednesday, January 23, 2019

Undisclosed Location

Happy New Year!

January's Mystery Meeting will be here before you know it. We'll have another fun excursion off the beaten path. Be ready with steady shoes for the ladies, because we might be heading for the unknown world of ugly.

Sometimes the event will involve risks, such as physical danger; as in touring an "ugly house," where the floors might not be stable, or the fleas might bite, or poison oak might be rampant (in the summertime).
Sometimes the event will involve math that might hurt the brain.
Sometimes the event will involve "shopping" and jotting-down SKUS at hardware stores.
Most likely it will be a Team-Building and a Power-Building event for you.
Many excursions will require you to sign a liability waiver before entering.

We always have a social dinner after the field trip, and this event will not be different. We order our food and drink at a local restaurant and share our war stories.

You must be registered at to get notification where the event is being held.
