I re-did my wife's laundry room with a remnant & did the under mount myself to save the $220. The marble floor tiles were from an auction @ $1/sq ft.

That look great! How much do the granite cost you and how did it cost to get cut?

Good point! Never looked at it that way but your right! I don't think it would be a waste. It would look a lot better, I just don't want to drop a lot of money on something because I think it will look good.

This house is in Kannapolis NC and it's one of those wired town lol where you can't look at comps because there is  literally $200,000 homes beside $40,000 homes. This house in the $70,000 range. The house behind it are in the $40,000 range. Across the stree $160,000 ranch styles home.

So my question is should I put a granite countertop in the kitchen of a cheap house. The house is a large mill style home built in 1948. The counter top is really small in the kitchen ( 8x2.5") so I was going to put in granite.  Is this a good idea or is to much for the house. In other words will it increase the value of the house or am wasting my money because most people want granite countertop arnt looking for mill houses?

hey Sara, I love the lake Norman area. Welcome to the site.

Thanks Travis for the info. I'll  definitely keep you in mind when the time comes. I've lived in Charlotte my whole life and know it like the back of my hand. I'm sure I will be doing business in Charlotte

Thanks for the welcome. I haven't looked into wholesaling but the investing will come in a few years and that may be an option. For now I'm going to concentrate getting the NC brokers license and do that on the side until I feel I have the knowledge to do it full time. I plan on keeping any money made selling as an agent to the side and saving it up to buy my first investment.

Hey everybody, I'm excited and a little nervous about what I'm getting into but that just lets me know I'm doing the right thing lol. I'm 32 and have a decent paying job but I feel like I'm stuck and nowhere to go with the company. I don't want to retire in 30 years making the same I am now! I'm starting classes to get my real estate license next month and hope to do that part time until I learn the ropes then go full time. One day I would like to get more in the investing side of things but I've heard trying to be an agent and investor is a little tricky. A little back ground on me: I've been in sales and customer service my whole life. I like the idea of how much or how little money I make is entirely up to me and what I want to put into it. I am a hungry money motivated person! Look forward to soaking in as much knowledge as I can from y'all!!
