As a fellow Long Islander, I know many investors that have purchased Sandy Homes. Please keep in mind depending on location, it is Town or County Policy that the home must be raised from the ground 10-15ft. These are for many homes near canals. That will probably be easy to ascertain by looking at the other homes on the street. I will say people do forget quickly and will always want to live on the water. If it's been abandoned for 3 years, really try and get the price as low as you can. There are always unforeseen issues.
