Post: How to Connect with Chinese Investors?

I'm a Chinese and living in Tampa. What I can tell you the so called Chinese "investment" money flow are at their end due to the down turn of Chinese economy. The government is limiting cash flow out of the country and people are dumping foreign accesses to bring the money back. Pay some attention to the world's hottest RE markets like Hong Kong, Vancouver, Toronto, and Melbourne, it is not hard to see the slow downs. It is just a bit too late if you are looking for the Chinese money, and I don't think Tampa is attractive enough for it.

@Chris Jensen Sounds like a plan, but after a couple rounds of doing it, will it be difficult to get more properties refinanced?

Also, we have put all our rentals under our business (is a S Corp, me and my wife own it), will it be even more difficult to get the refinance or HELOC on them?

@Ned Carey Our goal is to buy additional 5-10 properties within the next 5 years with the leverage of the 3 rentals. The rentals are our side business and we do not need the rental incomes for daily living.

@Milton Rivera Cash out Refinance or HELOC, which one is more ideal for our situation? How many % of equity we can get from HELOC? Sorry for the newbie question.

Currently me and my wife have 3 rental properties in Tampa which valued at about 175-220k each. Rather than our own home, we do not carry mortgage on any of the rentals.

We're thinking to maximize the leverage to buy more rental properties without using more cash reserve, and want to ask BP members' advice on building a bigger investment portfolio by borrowing, or should we just wait for the current inventories to appreciate instead?

I will stay away from 3/1 SFH. The demand on 3/1 is a lot lower than 3/2.

So besides the realtor, any other professionals I should hire during the process?

Sorry for the newbie question.

@Don Konipol - Good catch!

Hello all,

We just found a potential investment property in Tampa, and which is a short sell SFH.

Since short sell is pretty new to me, what important things I should look into? Any special procedure compared with traditional sale?

Thanks all for the warm welcomes!

Question for all:

If you were in my shoes, which areas of Tampa will you look into for your first investment property? Love to hear your opinions.

@Paul Timmins Would like to know more for student housing, thanks!

@Wes Eaves Would like to hear your recommendations, too!

Hello everyone!

I'm a newbie and learning to find the best way in real estate investing. It is kind of overwhelming for me to digest all this information. BP is very useful for information, and I'm looking forward to networking and gaining knowledge through BP and everybody!!

Besides my own home, me and my wife are thinking to add 3-5 investment properties for rental incomes within the coming year. We prefer multifamily, condo, or townhouse.

Price ranged from 50k-100k for each properties, and we prefers cash paid to save on interest expense.

Anyone here on BP investing in the Tampa area?

Which area and what is the best way to start from your opinion?
