Post: Finding adequate comparables

Hello I'm having difficulties finding adequate comparables on a particular property. This property is in a rural area and doesn't have much activity in its specific neighborhood (which is on a country club). There has been activity outside of the country club neighborhood however I don't feel that these properties are good comparables b/c of their location.

Where else should I look?

Hello @Jason Chaney welcome to BP. I also live in Arlington (Courthouse) and just went to my first REIA meeting last night (http://tractionreia.com/). They hold a monthly meeting in Tyson's. They introduce you to tips in the marketplace and relationships with local business. It's also a good networking event to connect with other wholesalers, rehabbers, etc in the area.

Some good podcasts to listen to are; the BP podcast (for all REI topics) and the J.Massey podcast (for buy and hold information).

Thanks so much @Account Closed for the invite. I've been reading about REIA meetings but wasn't really sure what they entailed....I really appreciate you sending this my way.

Since I'm new to investing, does anyone know of any local meetup groups in the DC area where we could get together and share ideas and network together?

@Tanya S. Yes I agree, I grew up and love this area. Since the Metro DC area is the area I know I'd like to invest here in the beginning...but I've been exposed (somewhat) to other areas as well, so I'd be open to them once I gain better knowledge of their markets.

Thank you @Russell Brazil, I appreciate the welcoming.

Hello all,

I am a new member to BP and new to Real Estate. I'm eager to learn as much as I can about Real Estate and Real Estate investing. I've always been a fan of real estate in terms of design/architecture, investing, and growth potential. I look forward to gaining knowledge from the BP Community.
