What's the wrp before REI Meetup for?

@Michael Wentzel I'm wondering how does an assignment of contract work?? Can I get a traditional mortgage with this? I'm new to this kind of purchasing. A help appreciated!

I agree with everything that was said here. I will say, don't discount the MLS, however, if you're going to look there you have to be quick! I found a fantastic 4-unit property there but I was the first of probably 10 showings they had that day and I had run every number and was prepared to make an offer immediately which I did. If it's a good deal out there it will gone instantly.

Find a good broker that can help you also. As everyone said, they usually have networks and can help bring you deals. It's very competitive in this area.

Also, someone stated multi-family is overpriced. Many of the listings are over-priced! As my broker always tells me, know what you're willing to pay regardless of what they're asking. If they don't take it, then oh well, move on.

Good luck in this crazy market!

Hi Katie,

I know you grew up in Chicago but it's a tough market here.  I have started looking into investing in Indy and other places around the midwest due to this. just my thoughts. Good luck!

Hi Shelly,

I'm an investor in the NW suburbs too. I have 2 investment properties so I wouldn't consider myself a pro or anything but would be interested in chatting about what type of properties you are looking into and want in a partner. I also work FT and invest so maybe between the 2 of us we'd make a great team or can just bounce ideas off one another.

Side note, I'm also in the process of getting my IL realtors license!
