@Michael Duncan aloha ! Thanks for the input. I guess should be happy that remodeling is even happening. When I bought my home many in the neighborhood had not been updated since they were built in 2003.

Hello everyone,

I plan to sell my home sometime next year and I'm pretty confident that it will sell quickly. I know there are many homes in my neighborhood that have similar characteristics as mine for example, sqft, single story and build year.

At the moment there is a home across the street that is getting a complete remodel including a new roof but it is not going on the market.

My question is, how are increased value assessed on a property if it doesn't go to market?

Hi everyone,

I currently own a home in San Antonio, Texas (78244) SF 3bd 2bth, 1820sqft, in a gated community. I have owned the home for 5 years, but we are weighing options on to sell or rent. I have become familiar with the BP 4 square method but I'm not sure how to perform this same analysis on my primary home. any advice?

Good afternoon BP peeps, Yesterday I came across a video online discussing the VA's Cash-Out Refinance Loan option for Service members and veterans. As a veteran and homeowner of VA home loan property, I'm interested in learning more about it but unfortunately I cant find any clear answers. Does anyone have experience with the VA's Cash-Out Refinance Loan process? If so, can you identify any pros /cons?

Hello everyone, I understand that in Texas disabled veterans rated at 100% by the VA are exempt from states property taxes. How does this work for those who own more than one property? I referred to Texas Tax Code Section 11.22 but I'm not sure I'm even interpreting it correctly. Can anyone shine some light on this?

Thank you Sir,

I didn't even factor in a Line of Credit as a viable option so thank you for the recommendation.

Hello, we trying to turn our current residence into a SF rental property here in San Antonio, Texas. We hoping to make this happen within the next year but before doing so, me and wife would like to make some updates mainly renovating the master bath (same layout) and replace the carpets in the 3 bedrooms. As far as funding the projects, we were thinking of using a 203K Refi loan or a HELOC, tapping into our roughly $40,000 in positive equity after 4 years of ownership. We are first time homeowners so we have no experience using either of the funding options, so we would like to know your thoughts and experiences in a situation such as ours. Thank you reading!
