Hello, I'm a new investor and just baught my first Duplex, which is a single family 3 bed 2 bath bungalow and a basement adu. My first tenants just moved in downstairs and I can hear almost every word they are saying when I'm upstairs in the kitchen. The upstairs has hardwood floors in the living room and bedroom, with laminate floor in the kitchen. Are there any common ways that investors will ad layers of sound proofing materials on floors? If so what are they?

Thanks so much any input is much appreciated!

Thank You, I appreciate the warm welcome. It is a single family home that has a basement ADU, it is listed as a duplex with the city. It is a Bungalow and I plan on making the top level 2 units.

Hello, I'm also new to the forums and have just baught a Duplex in NE Portland, and I am interested in renovating it into a Triplex. I have spoken with a few people from the city about it and have been informed that this will take me into commercial structural code, that would require a fire suppression system and an architect to draw up the plans to make sure all codes are met. I'm interested if you spoke with an architect for your Triplex to quadplex conversion? When I searched for architects none would take a job that small. Any and all help is appreciated! Thank You
